Family Violence in Gippsland
Family violence can be experienced by anyone. Since the age of 15, 23% of women have experienced at least one incident of violence by an intimate partner or ex-partner they may or may not have been living with (ABS, 2017). The majority of victims/or those who experience violence are women and children, but we also know that family violence can be experienced by those in same sex relationships, adult children towards their parents (elder abuse), adolescents towards family members and carers towards people with a disability.
