Campaigns

The Gippsland Family Violence Alliance supports campaigns/causes which will improve the lives of those experiencing family violence, and we encourage the Gippsland community and practitioners to also support these campaigns/causes.

The Let’s Chat initiative is designed to encourage individuals and organisations around Gippsland to raise awareness and take action so we can put a stop to violence against women and girls.

Gender based violence affects women and girls. That is why the Let’s Chat Gippsland campaign focuses on the things we can all do to end violence against women and girls.

Many family violence victims rely on the private rental market as demand for social housing outstrips supply. It’s forcing victims into homelessness.

Many family violence victims are unable to work after fleeing violence and are reliant on the Job Seeker payment, which isn’t sufficient to cover basic needs.

The Victorian Government has started making the kinds of investments needed to improve the safety of victim-survivors – but other Australian Governments are still lagging behind. The Fair Agenda community is working alongside survivor advocates and other experts to hold governments accountable to making the investment that’s needed to help victim-survivors access safety.
